The actual velocity of the fluid has to be known in order to calculate the pressure drop or flowrate. However, the flowrate for a gas is very often specified in volumetric terms based on standard or normal conditions of temperature and pressure. Examples of such flowrates are standard cubic feet per minute (scfm) or normal meter cubed per second (Nm³/s). AioFlo includes the ability to convert a flow at atandard conditions to a flow at actual conditions.
This example shows an air flow of 180 m³/h measured at the Metric Standard conditions of 15°C and 101.325 kPa being converted to actual conditions. The calculator includes the conversions to mass and actual volumetric flow rates.
A similar calculator is available for converting calculated flow rates from actual volumetric or mass flows to standard flows.
